Our love for music started back in our youth when garage music first hit London and produced a new sub-culture. At this point we should point out that we don't mean your 'Sweet Like Chocolate Boy' or any of that gassline turn grime shit....no no no, think TJ Cases to Tuff Jam, and D.E.A Project to M-Dubs. These are the times when pirate stations first ruled the airwaves, and attitudes were left indoors. But like all good things....they spoil themselves.
After the inevitable suicide of garage and the selling out of most of the remaining DJ's, we felt that underground house music suffered an embarrassing loss. House was officially dead....for a while anyway.
It probably wasn't until 3 or 4 years later when the likes of Nic Fanciulli arrived at Turnmils, did we then realize that all was not lost. The reason we point out Nic as some sort of saint (excuse the pun) is simple - amongst the European trance and hard-dance, we finally heard a sound that actually sounds like London.
Although not obvious back then, the deep subs that ruled house music were once again evolving and were making their way back on the turntables. From Ame, to Booka Shade, to Agnes, to Wolf + Lamb, I think I speak on behalf of most when we say good riddance to min-tech and welcome home to the beloved groove.
Deep, tech-house is coming and there is a real buzz in the air about its arrival! |

Our aim is to promote up-and-coming DJ's and producers on the underground house scene. The reason we choose only to promote up-and-coming artists is because we believe that these are the trend setters of tomorrow.
Every artist has a tipping point in their career, and this usually comes with fame. Many of the big DJ's and producers of today have lost sight of what direction the music is travelling in, to say the least. Whereas on the other hand, the artists we promote are about to hit their peak; they strive for notoriety, work hard, and are focused on the music. For us, this is what it’s all about and what makes music so exciting in the first place.
Making it on the underground circuit is the best achievement for any artist, any genre. We look to capture that moment as it happens. |
